4 Tasty Booze-Free Mocktails to Enjoy With Your Bored Family

Bored Family

One of the things that have made the pandemic worse is the sheer boredom that it has brought upon most of us. With so much time spent indoors, you can run out of things to do quickly. A fun thing you can do with your quarantine-mates is to make lovely mocktails. While booze is fun, mocktails are a great way to enjoy drinking with anyone of any age.

To help you cut back from the booze a little and help give your family something to do amidst the boredom, we have created this list of mocktail recipes that are sure to spice up your otherwise boring lives inside the home.

The Blueberry No-Hito

Mojitos are generally made with crushed ice, rum, and mint. For the perfect Blueberry No-Hitos, you will need the following ingredients:

  • Crushed ice
  • Fresh mint
  • A fresh bit of sliced lime
  • A splash of lime cordial
  • Fresh blueberries
  • A teaspoon of brown sugar
  • Soda water

Mix and crush a few mint leaves with brown sugar and three to four slices of lime in the bottom of a glass. Top the thing off with crushed ice and soda water, and then stir. Add a few blueberries in the mix with a splash of lime cordial, and you have a delicious no-hito.

2. The Spritz at Sunrise

This mocktail is somewhere between the Aperol Spritz and the Tequila Sunrise. You will need:

  • Ice
  • Orange juice
  • Rhubarb syrup
  • A stick of actual rhubarb
  • Fresh orange slices
  • Soda water
  • Alcohol-free sparkling wine

Each drink should begin with a glass filled a third of the way with orange juice. Stir in a teaspoon of rhubarb syrup. Fill the glass with ice and pop in three slices of orange inside. Fill it up to the brim with some soda water and some alcohol-free sparkling wine. If you want to get a little fancy, you can stick in an actual bit of rhubarb.

3. The Classic Colada

This drink just brings up memories of getting caught in the rain and not being into yoga. For the Classic Colada, you will need:

  • 75 mL of coconut milk
  • Ice
  • A tablespoon of brown sugar
  • 100 mL of pineapple juice
  • Frozen pineapple chunks
  • Fresh pineapple chunks

Pop some frozen pineapple chunks, a bit of ice, sugar, and juice in the blender. After you’ve blended the ingredients together, pour the drink into a glass and top it with some frozen pineapple chunks to give you something to nibble on. Make sure to play the song for greater effect.

4.The Margarita That Is Saving Herself For The One

Even without tequila, the Margarita That Is Saving Herself For The One is still a refreshing beverage. For this, you will need:

  • Crushed ice
  • 2 fresh limes
  • Orange juice
  • Still lemonade
  • Caster sugar

Serve it as cold as possible by keeping all the ingredients in the fridge. Run a slice of lime around the rim of a glass, and dip it onto a plate filled with the caster sugar until the rim is fully coated. After that, fill it with crushed ice and squeeze the rest of lime juice into it. Fill the glass up to a third of the way with orange juice, and top it off with still lemonade.
