Top Productive Things To Do When You're Bored PT. 2

i'm bored

When you’re bored, your body can sometimes tell you to just lounge around in bed. But a great way to lift your mood and get your body moving is by doing productive tasks.

In our last article, we gave you a list of things you can do to turn your lazy day into a productive one. And today, we’ve got more things on our list that can help fill up the hours in your day.

So, if you’ve been catching yourself saying, “I’m bored,” and being a couch potato, here are some productive things you can consider to help you un-potato yourself. Let’s get to it!

1. Learn Something New

The great thing about the internet is that there are so many resources and educational material on every corner. And with that being said, why not fill your hours learning about a certain topic?

Using your “bored” hours to learn new things can turn your boring day into an interesting one. Why not search for educational videos about things that interest you, such as film photography, learning a new language, or even watching some cooking videos so you can cook something up in the kitchen for dinner?

2. Update Your CV or Go on a Job Hunt

If you’re bored at home, then that means you can fill a few hours with some extra work. Think of it this way — if you have a few hours to kill, why not turn them into productive hours and earn some extra cash while you’re at it?

Now that you have time, you can update your CV and go on a job hunt for one-time gigs or part-time products. Updating your CV can take a lot of time, but now that you have a few hours to spare, you can now edit your photo, add some new skills you learned, delete some experiences that you don’t need, and more.

3. Stretch and Meditate

One of the best things to do when you’re bored is to get your body moving. However, it doesn’t need to be high-intensity workouts or lifting weights; you can ease movement by doing some yoga or even doing some meditation.

Yoga and meditation allow you to focus on your movement and breathing, allowing you to focus on how your body feels and give that much-needed stretch and love your body deserves.

4. Exercise Your Brain

If you don’t want to move your body, why not exercise your brain? Fortunately, there are a bunch of puzzles and games that are quickly accessible that can help exercise your brain.

Consider doing some crossword puzzles, sudoku, typing tests, and more. At the end of the day, you’ll be happy you gave your brain a bit of squeeze, and you’ll feel lighter and more productive.

5. Do Some Self-Care

Many of us have our days filled with work and other tasks that don’t allow us to slow down. Now that you have extra time, why not spend this time taking care of yourself?

Sure, self-care can involve spending hours in the tub, following an intensive beauty routine, or chilling with a glass of one. But today, consider writing a few paragraphs in your journal and create a gratitude list.

When we’re bored, we forget that we’re lucky enough to have some downtime to recharge. Because of that, use this time wisely and do tasks that can help clear your headspace and bring back the calm your body lost throughout the week.
